The House has passed a dangerous bill that deals a serious blow to existing handgun permit laws. The National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 822) would force states to recognize concealed weapons permits from other states, overriding states' decisions about who can carry concealed weapons. This is a political move by the extreme gun lobby to leverage its Washington influence and do an end-run around state laws, many of which keep our public safe.
We can't let this bill become law. Join us and call on President Obama to threaten to veto this outrageous bill. The people of each state must be able to take sensible measures to keep their streets safe.
